Tewkesbury proves a delightful backdrop for Old Haileyburians

A small but select group of OHs met at the Hilton Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury in October. Conviviality and great conversation was very much order of the day, writes Jeremy Lenox.

The Hilton Hotel, Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury proved again to be the ideal venue for our third biennial South Midlands OH Luncheon on Friday 19th October 2019. The setting and the beautiful late Autumn sunshine added to the occasion.

Our gathering of eight OHs and three visitors sat down to an excellent lunch, preceded by drinks in the bar, and again in the restaurant. As always, jovial company was the order of the day and produced lots of chatter concerning Haileybury - old and new. We were so pleased, too, that "family" Everard were with us and, during coffee, Doug (OH President) said a few comforting words about College matters.

At about 4.30pm a group photograph was taken on the hotel lawn which brought proceedings to a close before farewells were made. A buffet lunch in a local garden is being considered for mid-2019.

Throughout the day, our thoughts were with the family of Liz Drew, the tireless manager of the OH Office, whose untimely death from cancer only a few days earlier was very much in the front of our minds.
